Fashion Editor for Asharq Al Awsat
Jamila is the Fashion Editor for Asharq Al Awsat, a leading pan-Arab newspaper founded in 1978. It is based in London and is considered one of the oldest and most influential Arabic language newspapers, printed daily in a dozen locations, reaching audiences around the MENA region and beyond.
Jamila launched Asharq Al Awsat’s Fashion Section a decade ago and is a regular fixture at all the major International Fashion shows and events.
Jamila’s career in Fashion started as a Fashion Television producer for MBC (Middle East Broadcasting Centre) Television, before the company relocated from London to Dubai.
In 2013 she managed Arrajol magazine, a Men’s lifestyle magazine.
In 2014 she was listed for the second year running “The 500 people shaping the global fashion industry today” by BusinessOf Fashion.Com
